Classroom management is likely the single most important teacher skill to creating an effective classroom. Teachers can't teach if the climate and atmosphere of the classroom is poor. Teachers may be experts in their content, but many have trouble with classroom management (Sieberer-Nagler, 2015).
Teachers need to establish classroom management by:
Getting to know their students.
Using routines.
Creating expectations with the class.
Consistently reviewing the expectations.
Applying a consequence system.
